MultiPurpose Sampler (MPS)
The MPS robotic is a multifunctional and flexible robot that efficiently and reliably automates sample preparation and sample introduction into GC(-MS) or LC(-MS) systems. The system is known for:
Modular Design: Enabling simple adaptation to future analytical needs
Intuitive Concept: Ensures simple and reliable method generation and -set-up
Unified Control Software: GERSTEL MAESTRO Software controls the MPS and all GERSTEL modules
Thermal Desorption Unit 2 (TDU 2)
The Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU) 2 is a highly versatile thermal desorption system with a broad range of applications. It is suitable for conventional thermal desorption, as well as direct thermal extraction, direct headspace extraction or Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) injection into the cold cooled injection system (CIS). The system is known for:
Full Temperature Control: No cold or active points along the sample path
“Liner-in-Liner” Principle: Prevents the loss or carryover of analytes and reduces the amount of maintenance required due to a valve and transfer line free flow path
Fully Automated Process: Using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS and controlled by the MAESTRO software
Olfactory Detection Port 4 (ODP 4)
The GERSTEL Olfactory Detection Port ODP 4 is a GC-O-Port that allows the instrumental and olfactory detection of odor-active substances to be performed in parallel. The system is known for:
Discrimintation-free Transfer: Of odor-active substances for sniffing and parallel recording of olfactory impressions and intensities
Ergonomic design: Helps to maintain concentration while working but also makes working relaxing
Sniff-and-Trap Function: Substances of olfactory interest can be isolated and enriched for further analysis
3-MCPD SamplePrepSolution
3-Monochloropropanediol (3-MCPD) esters and glycidyl esters (GE) are formed as by-products during the refining of edible oils. In the human body, they react to form the known toxins 3-monochloropropanediol (3-MCPD) and glycidol. The 3-MCPD SamplePrepSolutions automates the determination of 3-MCPD, Glycidol, and 2-MCPD through various methods, including:
ISO 18363-1, AOCS Cd 29c-13, and DGF C-VI 18 (10)
These are the most frequently used methods world-wide. In an international round robin organized by the DGF in 2023, the maximum DGF-score of 2 was achieved using the GERSTEL 3-MCPD SamplePrepSolution.ISO 18363-4 | Zwagerman-Overmann method
This method offers faster analysis and relies on isotope dilution for improved quality control without the need for evaporation or centrifugation.
MOSH/MOAH SamplePrepSolution
The MOSH/MOAH SamplePrepSolution not only automates the analysis (LC-GC-FID) but also combines it with the necessary sample preparation. Mineral oil hydrocarbon contaminants, such as MOSH/MOAH, can be found in foods such as cereals, baked goods, fats and oils, coffee and many more. To ensure a reasonable cost benefit balance, high laboratory productivity and good quality of results, leading contract laboratories increasingly strive to automate their processes. An example is the determination of MOSH/MOAH using a LC-GC-FID Coupling Platform. The Solutionh is known for:
Stand-Alone Workstation: for automated saponification and epoxidation
Analysis System combined with Sample Preparation: to automate epoxidation and aluminum oxide clean-up as well as injection and analysis with an LC-GC-FID system
Dedicated evaluation software: to integrate even complex MOSH/MOAH chromatograms accurately and reproducibly
